Network information

You can find detailed information about the underlying network architecture, data center facilities, hardware redundancy, power systems, security measures, carrier diversity, and real-time monitoring practices that ensure high availability and reliable operations.

1. Servers and equipment

FireVM owns and manages all of its servers and networking infrastructure. Our hardware is deployed across multiple top-tier data centers, where we colocate using dedicated server racks. While the data centers provide the network backbone, all server infrastructure is fully controlled by FireVM. Leveraging multiple data centers eliminates single points of failure, ensuring consistent uptime. Thanks to our partnerships with only the most reliable facilities, network disruptions are extremely rare.

2. Data centers and facilities

FireVM strategically distributes its infrastructure across multiple independent data centers. This redundancy ensures that if one facility experiences an issue, the overall network remains unaffected. All partner data centers are enterprise-grade and staffed with 24×7×365 on-site support teams.

3. Data center locations

  1. Dallas, TX
  2. Denver, CO
  3. Chicago, IL

4. Network hardware

  1. Redundant gigabit Ethernet connections to every data center
  2. Fully redundant Cisco 6509 Sup-720 distribution switches
  3. Redundant gigabit Ethernet links to each rack switch
  4. Cisco 2960 48-port 10/100 switches at all racks

5. Power and cooling infrastructure

  1. 2500 kVA electrical power feed
  2. ASCO closed-transition transfer switches
  3. Multiple 1250 kVA Kohler diesel generators
  4. Kohler generator paralleling switchgear
  5. Powerware 9315 500 kVA UPS systems
  6. Liebert power distribution units (PDUs)
  7. High-efficiency Liebert upflow AC units (20 and 22 tons)

6. Security systems

  1. Comprehensive CCTV surveillance covering all entry points and facility interiors
  2. Controlled access via electronic perimeter card systems
  3. Third-party remote monitoring for enhanced security

7. Bandwidth and carrier redundancy

Our data centers are connected through multiple high-capacity bandwidth providers. The network features redundant core routers, distribution switches, and carrier-level diversity to ensure uninterrupted connectivity—even in the event of hardware failure.

  2. Cogent
  3. MCI (Verizon)
  4. Savvis (Lumen)
  5. Global Crossing

8. Server monitoring and response

FireVM monitors all servers in real time, with checks performed every 60 seconds. In the rare event of a failure, our technical team is alerted immediately and coordinates with the appropriate data center to initiate a rapid response. Outage updates are published in our announcement forum, and subscribed users receive email notifications. Throughout the process, clients are kept informed with timely status updates and resolution details.
